Whenever someone mentions “ice-cream”, I naturally get happy and feel excited. People say “Money can’t buy happiness,… but it can buy ice-cream.” Perhaps, ice-cream is, indeed, something akin to happiness. If you live in (or, if you’re going to have a trip to) the Netherlands, and you don’t mind a (long) trip to the East, Enschede’s Van der Poel is definitely won’t disappoint you. Since 1925, Van der Poel has grown up in time, providing over 30 different flavours of ice-creams, such as Brownie (with actual brownie!), Crème Brûlée, Tiramisu (of course, with tiramisu in it), Lemon Cheese Cake & Yogurt and many more.
只要說到雪糕，整個人就會豁然開朗。有說「Money can’t buy happiness… but it can buy ice cream.」，或者，某程度上，雪糕與快樂也是差不多的事。若果你身處荷蘭，又不怕跑得遠遠的話，或者可以跑到東邊的小鎮 Enschede 去吃 Van der Poel，這裡的雪糕不會叫你失望。1925 年開業的 vandelpoel 一直跟著時代步伐，推出超過三十種口味的雪糕，包括：brownie（內裡有小件的 brownie 增加咬感）, crème brûlée, tiramisu（加入了 tiramisu 蛋糕豐富層次）, lemon cheese cake, yogurt 等等。
Besides these tasty favours, I also heart the Sundae in Van der Poel. Tiramisu Coupe & Chocolade Coupe are my all-time favourites. All Sundaes are dressed with warm sauce and/or flavoured liqueur, topped with whipped cream and come with a crispy waffle. Their ice-cream is sooooo milky and fabulously rich, they have the best ice-cream I have ever eaten!
除了享負盛名的雪糕球外，我最喜歡的就是一個個特大的 sundae 杯，tiramisu coupe 和 chocolade coupe 就最合我口味。每款雪糕杯都有配合的 warm sauce 或是輕微的酒，配合了荷蘭人最喜歡的軟滑忌廉和曲奇餅塊；奶味極濃實材實料口感豐富，這絕對是我吃過最好吃的雪糕。
Oh, but, remember: Van der Poel only opens in (late-)Spring and Summer. So, don’t miss the chance to indulge yourself in the summer days!
有一點要注意的是，vanderpoel 只會在春夏季營業，冬天全面休市。所以啊，夏天要爭取時間吃雪糕了！
